This is a great drive over to Breckenridge from Como. Very Scenic! A hidden gem if you have an SUV or Jeep. Probably could pass over with a sedan but not ideal. Full review by splymire

I'm far from an expert on these roads/places but below are my thots. Based on the places you mention, I'm guessing you are in Breck - so all will be about the same distance. You mentioned stars, but it is also a chance to see comet Neowise, which is in the Northern sky - so having a good northerly view would be a bonus. 1. Hoosier will likely have more traffic given it is the paved pass between Breck and Fairplay. There is a parking lot at the top that would be a good spot and the number of cars probably won't affect your viewing given the time of night. I really don't know, however, how busy this road is at night. Regardless, you are going to want to get away from the road if you really want your eyes to adjust and get the full benefit. 2. Sapphire Point: I'm guessing this is too close to Frisco/Dillon and will have too much light pollution. Never been there, but that's my guess. 3. Boreas Pass: This is a dirt road and will be a bit trickier to drive in the night - not dangerous, but slower going. As I recall, there really aren't too many 360 views until you get all the way to the top. That said, this could be the darkest spot of the 3. It's a really cool spot with a couple of old structures (Google Section House and Ken's Cabin) from bygone days. There will be some neat views of Breck lights as you come back. Because I'm familiar with the road and love that pass, this would be my choice. 4. Loveland Pass: This would be another good option and another paved road. It is a tad further than the top of Hoosier but also might have a bit more traffic. That said, you could easily hike a bit off the road and have some great 360 views. Enjoy!!

Are there marked trails at top or along the way to hike? Is there a link to show trails and mileage if so?

Well obviously not well marked because we got lost!!! There are trails at the top so as long as you head down the mountain eventually you will get back to the road
Potholes were the only problem but I have done it in both SUV and a rental compact car low to the ground, slow where you see the terrain iffy and you'll be fine.
