There was one main problem with the cabin which I will save for last: the bathrooms, toilets, and the water. It was so bad that we won't return. If this were resolved then we would definitely return.… Full review by B A A

Very nice park. Not many people were there, so it was nice. We stayed in a cabin along the lake and the cabin was great. There was only one issue. If you want quiet, you unfortunately will hear a lot… Full review by E L
There really aren't any "lake front" sites. There are a few sites where you can SEE the lake through the trees. I don't recall the exact site numbers for those, but I believe it was 12-15. …

How is the Kayaking here? We were thinking on going kayaking on Fourth of July weekend and we would have to rent from the park. Also, if you rent a kayak from the park do they allow small dogs to tag along in the kayaks?

We take our 2 camping and hiking. They allow dogs, so I do not think they would restrict them on the water.
What type of deer are here at Don Carter? We are from Cornelia, Georgia and they seem to be much darker in color than the ones we have in our area.
