I must be honest, I expected a super modern interior aboard this super-fast train that took us from Kaohsiung to Taipei in 1lon and a half hours - but then again this technology has been queen of the… Full review by ThomasReprich

A:
Hi. I think it will. Just don't put all luggages in front of one seat.
Hello, appreciate your help please. How long in advance do we need to be at the station before the HSR's departure time please? Taking from Taipei to Chiayi 6:50am train. Thanks alot!

A couple of questions: 1) Do reservations get snatched up or is there generally room on the rail? We're a party of two looking to travel Taipei to Taichung 12/27, and Taichung to Tainan 12/29. 2) On the mobile app registration, it asks for a Taiwan ID #. What do people use? I've tried a generic A11111111C as a stand-in but that didn't work.

If you’re travelling out of peak time there is a better chance of getting seats. Mind you we booked our seats online (not via the app) and had the tickets printed at 7-11 for a small fee. We also booked a couple of days before our trip. I’d say do the booking online if you can. What we found was that the locals don’t bother to book beforehand but sit anywhere there’s vacant seats. So there was someone in our seats when we boarded. The advantage of booking is that you already have seats assigned. We travelled to Tainan by standard rail and upgraded to first class on the way back to Taipei. The staff at the station did speak English and the whole process was quick and efficient. Hope this helps and good luck and have a great time.
I’m going to taiwan on nov I’m looking at Klook offer stating Taipei to and from taichung tickets. But I not sure whether can I buy tickets as I’m planning to go Taichung one day trip and back to Taipei on the same day. Can I get and redeem the tickets on the same day? Or should I just get the offer from Klook from Taipei to Taichung and when I want to change my ticket at the main station I get the tickets at the counter to come back Taipei?

I believe is cheaper to buy the tickets in the train station. Check in the internet first. Enjoy!
