I would absolutely not do this hike if the weather is poor. By this I mean any rain as the rock are extremely slippery and dangerous. Even with good shoes there is no grip. I was with an organized gr… Full review by globetrottergirl07

Hopes were high for seeing this and we were very lucky with the weather. Quite a long hike - definitely requires a reasonable level of fitness. It ascends and descends steeply and significantly two o… Full review by Harrison-F-Carter

Mate, I think that you can make it, even with surgery. It might just take more time, so begin your hike early in the morning. Do you still feel some pain? Point is that the whole Kjerag path is split in three part. The first one is the worst, with challenging slippery slopes, no steps (proper shoes). They put chains (summer time) along the path to make hikers help with it. Don’t go with bad weather or ice, this is very important, the ice. It will make you detour from the path, if you don’t use crampon. Don’t loose the red signs on the rocks if you’re not good with bearings.

There are some challenging spots where you have to hang onto a chain to pull yourself up the vertical rock faces. There are steep areas and up and down a lot. The trail goes along the edge of high cliffs in spots. The trail is easy to follow as there are hordes of people but it is not an easy climb and if you are nervous with heights it could be daunting. It took us about five or six hours round trip with a stop for lunch and photos on kjeragbolten. The weather was perfect, so factor that in. Start out early in the day and be prepared for any type of weather. I’m a female age 57 and did it last summer with my 26 year old daughter. I’m fairly fit but didn’t do any special training. Walking poles came in handy.
