The Morton Arboretum is an internationally recognized tree-focused botanical garden and research center in Lisle, Illinois. As the champion of trees, the Arboretum is committed to scientifically-informed action, locally and globally, and encouraging the planting and conservation of trees for a greener, healthier, more beautiful world. On 1,700 acres are 222,000 plant specimens representing 4,500 different plants, along with specialty gardens, educational exhibits, award-winning Children’s Garden, 16 miles of hiking trails, and Visitor Center, featuring The Arboretum Store and the Ginkgo Restaurant and Café. The Morton Arboretum is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, welcoming one million visitors annually.

The arboretum is open, but all buildings, the children's garden, and the maze is closed. There was a long line of cars waiting to get in last Wednesday morning.
Hi, I want to take some cool (non commercial of course, it's just me and my little guy and an iphone haha) pics in the fall with my little guy. I just think it would be really nice to get some photos of us under the trees when they're full of color. Is there a day that's a little less crowded that you could recommend? And a good time for the fall colors? We've never been and I keep checking the site for "fall colors" but I see nothing about the crowds, except Wednesdays are the busiest. Raina

I’ve only been there on a weekend (last spring for the daffodil field) and there were a lot of people. Wednesday /Thursday should be less crowded. Just got an email from them today (I’m a member) and there is a fall color report (wont allow me to include website links but you can search in their website ). For photography (a hobby of mine) - best to shoot during golden hours (ie. sunset). Or a cloudy day is good too -Midday will give you shadows on your face and will be too harsh. Also, stick to solid colors for clothing (no patterns) and you should get great photos!
