We only did the self guided tour of the garden. It is a must see! It is huge and beautiful. We spent about 30 minutes roaming around. Even on Labor Day weekend the flowers were spectacular Full review by mawebster1020

I think it is part of the Peabody Essex Museum and this was on their web site: House Tours: Experience two centuries of New England life, art, and architecture through the museum's National Historic Landmark houses. A variety of tours of the Gardner-Pingree (1804) and John Ward (ca. 1684) houses are available. Topics and times vary; visit the admissions desk or the information desk for reservations. House tours are included with museum admission.

Its a peaceful oasis away from the the crowds, shops, etc. In Spring thru early Fall, wonderful for photographers to shoot florals. Love especially the intricacy of the Dahlias. Visit every chance I get
