One of the worst beaches I've ever been to. Given that Malaga city is so beautiful and clean, I expected the beach to be likewise. It's awful! The sand is dirty and grainy. The sunbeds we hired were… Full review by R6755IGgails

Veronica5 has it about right, we stayed in this area just by Muelle Uno. You might consider Pedregalejo, a mile up the beach and on the local bus routes.
We are traveling to Malaga in July and recently heard not too good reviews of the La Malagueta beach. Can you please share some experiences and impression as my kids would be greatly disappointed if the beach is not good and clean for swimming. I am already looking into options for other beaches in the area as a backup, Appreciate your feedback.

It's an average city beach, it's clean and there are chairs and umbrellas to rent. It is right in the city so easy to get to which is nice as the city itself is a great place to stay. It's a great beach to relax and swim in the ocean. It's not fancy but it's a clean beach. The guys selling water all have different prices some are much less than others but you can get water, pop, beer or mixed drinks without leaving your chair. The people on the beach are also quite friendly
Hi We are a group of 7 couples heading to either Malaga or Marbella. We like beaches and are looking forward to spending a week in Spain at a villa. My question is which city Marbella or Malaga has the best beaches? I think it will be Marbella but Malaga was recommended to us by a fellow traveller. In the Malaga area are there other beaches besides the Playa de La Malagueta? Thanks

Marbella has the best beaches and they are natural whilst in Malaga the beaches are natural.
