You’ll find gravel roads throughout the park and the side roads are the most likely. We enjoyed the drive up and the short hike into the canyon. Full review by Ronald B

Titus Canyon is a 26 mile dirt road that takes you through Leadfield Ghost town.  This one way road starts outside the park by the entrance to Rhyolite.  The road is maintained enough to get most 2… Full review by lovz2hike

We rented a 4x4 from Farabee's for the day. They were great to work with and the drive through Titus Canyon was really amazing. The drive itself was fun - going through the windy mountain roads - a… Full review by NewtonDad

Yes, the earlier in the day, the better. Here are the reasons: (1 -- Road) It's a long, jolting drive that you don't want to rush. (2 -- Seasons) It's cooler, if traveling during warmer weather. If traveling Nov-Feb, you have less daylight (sundown is about 4:30). You may see big horn sheep earlier in the morning (4 spotted this Feb trip). (3 -- Side Trip) You should include a side-trip to Rhyolite ghost town a short distance east in Nevada.

I think you mean an Cadillac Escalade, am I right? Just browsed via Google and looked at some fotos of this car. In my opinion it may be possible. I only wonder, if the wheelbase is a bit to wide for small hills on the road with a small respectively steep angle. But if you drive slow and carefully there won't be any problem. I hope my answer is understandable for you because my English is admittedly rather good but to find the right words/explanations for certain things (technically etc.) I have to look at dictionaries in the web. A recent review mentions tour jeeps on the Titus Canyon Road. I'd like to do that drive on my next visit to Death Valley, and one of the things I love most about the park is the sense of isolation that can be found there. Do you think the tour jeeps could be considered an intrusion on this drive? Thanks for any help you can offer.
A:
I haven't seen them, so they probably aren't there all the time. Call the companies and ask for their schedules.

Hi I am planning to drive Titus Canyon if I have time after driving round the DV attractions South of Furnace Creek. I see on Google Street view that Titus Canyon Rd is only open Eastbound from Scotty's Castle Rd for 3 miles so is the best way to enter Titus Canyon heading West from highway 374 near Beatty?
A:
Yes, you want to enter from the west entrance because the road through the majority of the Canyon is one way. Don't forget to fill up prior to going in because it's a long way to gas from the …

Is the sun in the eyes an issue in late afternoon, since it's a western direction? I haven't (yet) read anyone state that as an issue for them.
A:
We did this on a cloudy day which meant the colors in the canyon were amazing. Counterintuitive, I know....therefore can't help you much.
