There are lovely walking routes in Whirlpool State Park that offer a variety of breathtaking river views. Without a doubt, I would strongly advise doing the same when visiting Niagara Falls. Full review by arbi n

They are all connected as a trail. If you start at Whirlpool State Park, you can go either way...toward the falls or Devil's Hole. If you want to walk down Devil's Hole leave a minimum of three hours for experienced hikers and a lot more for novice. Also look at the new Niagara Gorge Discovery area (1 to 1.5 miles from the Whirlpool State Park) toward the falls. You can take an elevator down to the river below the falls (where the Maid of the Mist puts into the river each year) and go on rough trails. Awesome hiking and spectacular views!!!
