Zanzibar University is a private university in Zanzibar, Tanzania. It opened in 1998 as the first university in Zanzibar. Our mission is to educate broadly and liberally men and women without discrimination of race, religion, or physical disability, so as to reduce the severe inadequacy of qualified professionals and practitioners and improve the quality of education with the ultimate aim of uplifting the quality of life of Tanzanians in particular, and that of other people at large. Zanzibar University (ZU) offers various academic programmes leading to the award of Certificates, Diplomas, and Degrees.
