They do have a section dedicated to little kids, but my experience is that 3 is a little young to really appreciate it. If you just have the 3 y.o. to entertain, I'd suggest the zoo or the aquarium instead. But if you're determined to go to the Discovery Center you will find things to do. We were just a little disappointed at how many things my kids couldn't do at 3 and 4. We spent a lot less time there than we expected that first visit.
I think all ages like it. We had a 6 yo and 2 60 yo's. We all enjoyed it. The topic changes frequently, it was Leonardo Da Vinci 's machines and drawings when we attended
