I know the lane leadng up to Overbecks is a nightmare, especially if you dislike having to reverse on a strange road (which I do). So we're looking at the East Soar Car Park as an alternative. Is it accessible by a reasonable road? And does the walk from there to Overbecks require any serious climbing? Thanks James in Canada

We are relatively fit people but do not do much climbing and distance walking , we walked from Salcombe to Overbecks and it was not strenuous. We got the boat back at the bottom of the hill into Salcombe - glorious . Getting to Overbecks really early so that you can park at their car park is the best option if you are concerned .

Dogs, unfortunately are not allowed anywhere in the property - there is however ample dog walking along the south west coast path that runs around the property and there is a “walkers hut” which serves refreshments at nearby East Soar approx 1 mile away along the coast path.
