It's a highway, but in good condition. There are big trucks of course. Traffic moves along pretty well. As far as highways go, it's scenic and much better than many I've traveled.

You can rent kayaks in the summer there on weekends. Kayaking end to end depends on how fast your paddle. I could do it in an hour or an hour and a half depending on the weather and the whitecaps if there are any. You also have to be careful if the water level is low because you can hit rocks or boulders under the water. You could also kayak Willow Lake which is right next-door.
