Charlotte Hornets star Brandon Miller has played just two games since spraining his ankle against the Philadelphia 76ers on December 16. Before returning last night, Miller hadn't played since December 26.

Charlotte didn’t have its starting backcourt for the third straight game and fell to the Detroit Pistons 98-94 on Friday night.

Miller, who is in his second NBA season, is averaging 21.5 points per game on 40.6 percent field goal and 35.3 percent three-point shooting so far this season. The Hornets forward is recording per game averages of 5.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.1 steals per outing as well.

Despite the return of LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller, the Hornets didn't have enough offensively to keep pace with the red-hot Cavs in the first half. The group as a whole didn't play well enough to win the game,
