TCU quarterback Hauss Hejny’s first season in Fort Worth was one focused on growth. The former four-star recruit and Aledo standout experienced a lot during his freshman season. There were the highs, like getting on the field in four games this season and quickly learning a new offense under Sonny Dykes and Kendal Briles.

While Hejny earned limited experience, the freshman started the season as the No. 3 quarterback on the depth chart behind starter Josh Hoover and former Vanderbilt transfer Ken Seals. Steven Johnson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram indicated on X that Hejny will not play for the Horned Frogs in the upcoming New Mexico Bowl against Louisiana.

A native of Aledo, Texas, Hejny participated in the Elite 11 Finals and was invited to the 2024 All-American Bowl. He led Aledo, a Lone Star State power, to consecutive state championships as a junior and senior. He passed for close to 2,800 yards and 27 touchdowns as a senior while adding 1,041 yards rushing.

Hejny was the headliner for TCU’s 2024 recruiting class, choosing to stay close to home after leading Aledo to back-to-back 5A state championships.
