It's been a busy week for USC Trojans women's basketball star JuJu Watkins. The sophomore guard picked up a huge win over the UConn Huskies and Paige Bueckers, and Watkins was named the Big Ten Player of the Week for the second time this season.

JuJu Watkins is The Associated Press women's basketball player of the week. The sophomore guard shined in the Trojans’ 72-70 victory over UConn, scoring 25 points with six rebounds, five assists and three blocks.

On Saturday night, the USC women’s basketball team earned a statement victory over UConn on the road. Following the performance, accolades and recognition have begun to come in for the Trojans. At the center of it all has been star sophomore guard Juju Watkins.

USC jumped out to an early 9-0 lead to and watched it balloon to eighteen at 51-33 by the early stages of the third quarter. Juju scored 19 of her 25 points during that span and did so from the midrange, around the basket and beyond the arc.

With future pros dotting the rosters, Watkins and USC get revenge on Paige Bueckers and U-Conn after last year’s Elite Eight matchup.

JuJu Watkins didn’t smile like some of her other teammates throughout warm-ups Saturday. It seemed like she was in her own little world.

JuJu Watkins and Paige Bueckers both showed out in a primetime matchup between two of the brightest stars in women’s basketball.

And Watkins had the last laugh as her Trojans won a down-to-the-wire thriller in the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut, 72-70, giving USC some redemption after losing to UConn in the Elite Eight last year. Fans absolutely loved to see two of the sport’s biggest stars clashing again.
