The heavy snowfall left many tourists stranded on highways. In a heartening display of compassion, locals in the Kulgam and Anantnag districts opened their homes and mosques to provide shelter. Food and heating arrangements were organised by Kashmiris to assist those caught in the freezing conditions.

Srinagar-Jammu national highway, Mughal Road, Srinagar-Leh highway and all roads through mountain passes remain closed for the second day.

Following the first snowfall of the season, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah stated that nearly 2,000 vehicles are stuck in Qazigund town, Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir.

The Srinagar Airport announced on X; "Due to bad weather conditions, all flights at Srinagar Airport have been cancelled. Passengers are advised to contact their airlines for updates. We regret the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
