Kirill Kaprizov hasn't been in the Minnesota Wild lineup for over a week and they placed him on injured reserve today. But, there is good news.

Kaprizov, who has missed three games with a lower-body injury, is still tied for second in the league in goals scored (23) and eighth in points (50).

Meanwhile, team captain Jared Spurgeon could miss significant time after he suffered an injury during Minnesota's 5-3 win over Nashville on New Year's Eve. Spurgeon fell feet first into the end boards after being slew-footed by Zach L’Heureux.

ST. PAUL - Wild head coach John Hynes revealed this morning that superstar forward Kirill Kaprizov hasn't skated yet. He was not on the ice for morning skate on Tuesday and will not play against the Nashville Predators (11-19-7). It will be the Wild's third game in a row without their top forward.

Just coaching him, (you see) the commitment that he has to the game and to the team and he’s getting rewarded for it.,” Wild coach John Hynes said.

The team has said that Kaprizov's injury is a day-to-day situation. The Wild will come back to Minnesota to host the Blackhawks on Sunday, so there seems to be a chance he returns after the quick trip to Texas. Kaprizov leads the Wild with 50 points and his 23 goals rank second in the NHL.
