Students at Auburndale Middle High School learn maple tree tapping in their school forest as part of their Agriculture class.

Weidner explained that the best and easiest way to identify maple trees is by their distinct leaves, which can be identified during the spring, summer, or fall, then marked to be tapped in the winter.
