REI CEO Eric Artz is retiring at the end of March, the Issaquah, Washington-based co-op announced Wednesday.

REI's incoming president will oversee the co-op as it looks toward a future with more unionized stores and a relatively stable economy.

REI has named Mary Beth Laughton, a former REI board director, to serve as President and then take on full CEO responsibilities on March 31, 2025.
