Historically, Mexico have dominated the series with Canada, but present day paints a very different picture. Canada were far-and-away the best Concacaf representative in last summer's Copa América, securing a fourth place finish and remaining unbeaten in their five games since under manager Jesse Marsch.

Canada and Mexico, both hosting the 2026 World Cup alongside the United States, continue their fine-tuning ahead of next summer's competition at the Concacaf Nations League, facing each other in the semifinals of the competition on Thursday.

Raúl Jiménez scored in the opening minute and again in the 75th, lifting Mexico into the CONCACAF Nations League final with a 2-0 victory over Canada.
