Firefighters rescued a dog from a house fire on New Year’s Eve in Montgomery County. In a post at 3:50 p.m., Montgomery County Fire and Rescue System (MCFRS) Spokesperson Pete Piringer said that firefighters were at Skip Jack Drive near Ebtide Circle for a fire at a three-story home.

A police officer in Gaithersburg, Maryland, was hospitalized Friday night after a vehicle collided with his cruiser, causing it to catch fire.

First responders were at the scene of a collision and vehicle fire that happened shortly before rush hour on Friday. Pete Piringer, a spokesman with Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) said the incident happened in the area of Flower Hill Way and Snouffer School Road.

An officer said at least one person was transported to the hospital. It is unclear how severe their injuries may be.
