In a stunning find, researchers from the Universities of Oxford and Birmingham have uncovered a huge expanse of quarry floor filled with hundreds of different dinosaur footprints, creating multiple enormous trackways.

The 166-million-year-old footprint tracks, found at a quarry in southern England, mark one of the largest discoveries in decades.

Researchers have excavated the largest dinosaur footprint site in the U.K. after a quarry worker found tracks left by two of Britain's biggest Jurassic dinosaurs.

These footprints offer an extraordinary window into the lives of dinosaurs,” one micropaleontology professor said.

Hundreds of dinosaur footprints more than 160 million years old have been discovered in England. It was all an accidental find last summer in a limestone quarry that's just been revealed.

Back in June, a team of more than 100 people descended upon the Dewars Farm Quarry in Oxfordshire in southern England. They were there for paleontology work, to excavate and discover some more information about the Middle Jurassic period.
