Bear activity has prompted the Beartooth Ranger District to require hard-sided campers at the Rattin and Sheridan campgrounds, about 7 miles south of Red Lodge.
A grizzly bear that was bedeviling Custer Gallatin National Forest officials has moved on, allowing the agency to reopen three campgrounds at the base of the Beartooth Pass, south of Red Lodge.
