Weekend rain helped firefighters gain ground on the deadly Palisades and Eaton fires, which started Jan. 7 in a Santa Ana windstorm and destroyed entire neighborhoods. Although evacuation orders have since been lifted for most of LA County, fire survivors continue to face the road to recovery as they focus on rebuilding.

Six wildfires are burning in Southern California, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire). Earlier this month, two significant wildfires ignited in Los Angeles and quickly grew to encompass thousands of acres.
