During the 2011 Detroit Auto Show, ZF announced that is was forging forward with plans to develop a nine-speed automatic transmission and the gearbox specialist is now ready to dish out some details.
The gearbox in question is said to be the 880RE eight-speed automatic. This transmission is based on ZF’s fourth-generation design and is built at the Stellantis Kokomo Transmission Plant.
