Winters storm watches, warnings, advisories issued for weather in Chicago, NW Indiana Friday
Another round of lake effect snow that will be potentially very heavy near Lake Michigan prompted winter weather watches and advisories in Chicago and Northwest Indiana.
Bursts of lake-effect snow could drop several inches of snow on parts of Chicago area Friday and Saturday.
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for a portion of Cook County and Lake and Porter counties in Indiana until 6 p.m. Friday, with snow totals ranging from 1 to 9 inches depending on the area.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for much of Chicagoland for the majority of the day Sunday, followed by a Cold Weather Advisory overnight Sunday into Monday morning, with wind-chill values early Monday in the minus-20 to minus-25 range.
