As Google works to combine Android and ChromeOS into an OS currently known as Aluminum, it still needs to honor a commitment to provide 10 years of support to ChromeOS devices.
The main downside of the screen is that it's not very bright, peaking at 400 nits. Even at 100% brightness, it's hard to see the display outside. Under artificial lights, however, it's totally fine.
