Despite a road win over state-ranked Manhattan before the Christmas break, the Hays High girls' drop two spots to No. 7 in Class 5A. Manhattan jumps two to No. 8 in Class 6A. The high school winter season is a little more than a month old and one fact is clear: The South Shore is loaded with girls basketball talent. The area was shut out of state titles last season, but there are plenty of contenders across several divisions ready to change that narrative.
