Amazon has unveiled plans to launch Britain’s first drone delivery service in Darlington despite recently grounding US flights following crashes in wet weather.

Amazon packages could soon be delivered to your door in under an hour, as the retail giant moves one step closer to launching deliveries by drone in the UK. The company has chosen its warehouse in Darlington as the proposed site from which to launch the service.

Amazon has confirmed the location for the introduction of its drone delivery service in the United Kingdom. The town of Darlington in the north east of England has been chosen as the hub, with the U.S. tech giant following through on a pledge to commence home deliveries, even if they are slightly behind schedule.
