The U.S. and Canadian Coast Guards are continuing efforts to break up ice and free a freighter that has been trapped in a frozen Lake Erie for days, officials said.

The temperature has been above freezing for less than a day in 2025 and this is starting to have an impact on weather patterns in the Valley.
