CM Yogi Adityanath urges pilgrims to follow instructions and avoid going to Sangam Nose after a stampede broke at Maha Kumbh Mela.

More than seven people were killed in a stampede at the Maha Kumbh Mela in the northern Indian holy city of Prayagraj on Wednesday. PM Modi reviewed the situation in a call with UP CM Yogi Adityanath.

According to latest reports, at least 15 people have lost their lives after a stampede broke out at Maha Kumbh in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj on Wednesday, ahead of the Mauni Amavasya Snan. Rescue operations are underway and UP CM Yogi Adityanath has urged people to avoid moving towards Sangam Nose and instead take a bath at the ghat near Maa Ganga.

Maha Kumbh Stampede: 1.75 crore people have taken holy dip today till 6 am; a total of 19.94 crore people have taken holy dip till 28th January, as per the Uttar Pradesh government.

Several people are feared dead after a stampede at the Maha Kumbh Mela Uttar Pradesh Prayagraj on Wednesday as scores of people turned up for a holy dip in the Ganga on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya.

Following the stampede, the Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad said that the seers have called off their Mauni Amavasya's Amrit Snan. Jagatguru Rambhadracharya also appealed to devotees to take the holy dip at the nearest ghat on the Ganga and not come to the Sangam Nose.
