Olivia Hussey Eisley, the actress who shot to fame as one of the title characters in Franco Zeffirelli's controversial 'Romeo and Juliet,' died peacefully today.

BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that Olivia Hussey, best known for her role in the 1968 film adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, has passed away at age 73 from breast cancer.

Hussey died on Friday, “peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones,” a statement posted to her Instagram account said.
