As of Wednesday morning, the Santa Ana wind-fueled Palisades Fire in Los Angeles had scorched more than 5,000 acres and destroyed an estimated 1,000 structures, many of them homes, officials said.

Some are carrying their valuables with them, but this devastating situation has even brought several people down to San Diego. So far as of Thursday night, 13,690 acres burned in the Eaton Fire, displacing hundreds of people on the eastside.
