Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education leaders are set to vote on Tuesday on whether to raise the district's minimum wage for staff. With board approval, some of the changes will start in February.

CHARLOTTE — On Tuesday, leaders with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools could vote to raise the district’s minimum wage to $20 an hour. The findings of a compensation study were presented to the school board earlier this month.

Board of Education members for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools are scheduled to vote Tuesday on a proposal that would increase thousands of employees’ compensation to at least $20 per hour. The increase would apply to both hourly and salaried staff members who are considered ‘classified staff.
