Vin Diesel is returning the Fast & Furious franchise to where it all started: Los Angeles. The actor took to social media to share a conversation with co-star Jordana Brewster about filming the rest of Fast X: Part 2 in LA to bring back production to the city following the devastating wildfires.

The sequel to Fast X was originally set to open in theaters this year. But as of now, production has not begun, and there isn’t an expected start date. The reason, reportedly, is that Vin Diesel is having trouble securing financing for more Fast & Furious films.

Vin Diesel has announced that the upcoming Fast X: Part 2, the penultimate installment of the Fast & Furious franchise, will return to its roots by filming in Los Angeles. The city, which served as the backdrop for the series’ original 2001 film, holds a special place in the saga’s history.

Diesel shared a picture with his co-star Jordana Brewster along with a note in which he shared that Brewster encouraged him to have Universal film the "rest of Fast X: Part 2 in LA."
