Jan 5, 2021 · Our Fortigate 100D is running FortiOS 6.2.7 Build 1190 and the WebUI says it is up to date. On r/sysadmin however someone tries to update a different device to FortiOS 6.4.x. Where can I find out if that OS is available for the 100D and how I can install it? Best regards and thanks in advance for your answers.

Make sure you update the firmware on it before connecting it to the internet, that things going to be hella vulnerable on whatever it left the factory with.

Nov 13, 2018 · I used forticonverter 5.3.0 to go from 100d to 101e- it’s really easy. Make sure they are at the same firmware level is the best place to start from. Download config from old box, download confit from new box run them through converter, upload converted config to new box boot and then check the diag debug conf read after it posts.

In normal use with 10Mbps - 50Mbps links, a 100D can deal with around 4k-6k session / 50-150 users on the unit before memory usage starts being a problem - in this case, link speeds are not the issue (ie. performance) but capacity (memory usage) is.
