Jan 31, 2024 · The file came down as a folder called "filename.pdf.download", which I found odd. It was not in a zip format. This was a time sensitive matter, so after a few attempts at getting to the pdf, I downloaded the file from a Windows machine, no problems, it came down as filename.pdf as expected. I eventually moved that file to my Synology NAS.

Mar 30, 2006 · These PDF files are fine when viewed on the Mac, but any app on IOS (iBooks, Dropbox, Box, Documents) crashes when trying to open the files. There must be some embedded formatting code or links that IOS can't handle. This is a significant problem since the IOS version of Safari can't create its own PDF files. As good as IOS is, it's not perfect.

Mar 4, 2012 · 1) You opened the pdf to view in Safari but didn't save it. That's done through the Share menu. 2) You're not looking in the right iCloud folder. If you can show us some screenshots, we can help better.

There is a specific PDF file on the website of the Dutch tax authority that causes these issues when attempting to download it (I first encountered this issue on the 24th of March). For context: I use iCloud Photos but not iCloud Drive (I use Mobius sync/syncthing instead).

The funny thing is, even though it says it’s still downloading I have access to some features like writing tools. I switched the languages a couple times and got it to work, but as soon as I switched back to English (Canada) it gets stuck downloading.
