Jul 31, 2016 · "Green" drives often don't work in a PVR because they "spin down" when not active and the PVR will not spin them up again properly. Many PVRs require either a purple, black, blue or red drive to function properly. Sometimes it's possible to connect a green drive to a computer and delete the "green" firmware that makes them spin down.
