The screen above the controller would make for comfortable viewing, real estate for comfortable ergos while gaming and all this with no compromises on the performance. The idea of a flip suddenly seems a no brainer for me. So I cancelled my pre-order on the rp4p and now await the flip 2 release to be my first android based emulation device.

I really like it, and right now I'm waiting for the 60 days with Tracfone to expire so I can unlock it and put my smart phone's Verizon sim in it. But before I let the Amazon return window pass... can I get 100% confirmation that the Flip TWO, not just PRO, can use a Verizon sim card?

May 21, 2023 · Yes the TCL flip phones are definitely tricky to find info for. Thank you for clarifying the bands — I’m not familiar with how that works but I read somewhere that the flip 2 is more Verizon based and might not have all the bands you need for T-mobile — so it’s good to hear that that’s not the case.

Jun 23, 2024 · Unlocked means it will accept any SIM card but it will still only support the bands it says on the box. I have the Flip 2 and it’s great but it’s fairly compromised due to the lack of touch screen so depending on what you need to do with the phone you might be better with the TT970 which I understand it does have a touch screen.

Aug 23, 2023 · The TCL Flip 2's model number is T408DL and the model number 4058G doesn't exist. "Go" is not part of its model name. It would just be the TCL Flip 2. Buying this is maybe worth a shot if you've already heard from the seller. But you should have them check the exact model number. It would be underneath the battery.

Oct 26, 2023 · Yeah, I was looking at the 2780. One nice thing about it for me is that it's available unlocked nearby, unlike the Flip 2 (locked on walmart service for 2 months, not terrible). I think that I would have gone with the Sunbeam F1 if I could have found it nearby, but the availability was just so spotty. I might look back into the 2780.
