Sep 3, 2020 · Since last week till date, from iOS 13.6 and 13.7 updated, the issue with downloaded gif files is ongoing. Any gif file downloaded from Chrome browser only save a phot of it and not the actual gif. This issue does not occur when the gif is downloaded from Safari. Gif in messages app works fine too. Gif files that were downloaded earlier works fine.

Have tried to save a gif into documents but Preview seems to have just the individual frames in the 0.7 second gif. When I have tried inserting into an email, I just end up with the web link.

Non of the suggestions worked for me, but Dialabrain said, "My guess is you are downloading the webp file from a site rather than the gif.

View iPhone Live Photos on Windows 10 without additional software. As said before, iPhone creates a MOV file as well as a JPEG image when you capture a Live Photo.

Dec 10, 2021 · Just the “tap to download” box that does nothing to bring the photos back. I too have tried ALL the troubleshooting options multiple times, even turning icloud backup off for messages so they’ll stop saving in the cloud and download on my phone. I have PLENTY of space, over 40GB. PLEASE somebody fix this problem!
