They're trying to move "upmarket" and get into more collision repair, including insurance claims. That's probably the big driving factor why you won't see advertising on the "cover it with newspaper, hold your breath and spray" jobs anymore.

I also decided to take it to Maaco, because let's face it, it's a $400 car that might fetch a few thousand if I sell it. Maaco ran a half off sale until the end of the year, which was also incentive. Jun 15, 2016 · I picked up a new to me 1984 4-runner last weekend with some paint dandruff issues. That is, the paint on the roof and tailgate flaked off a bit like dandruff. A local body shop with excellent ratings (and what seems like great customer service) quoted me $1700 to paint those two spots. That seems steep to me.

Mar 25, 2017 · The thing is, I would be spending almost $200 in primer and paint using spray cans to get both sides of a hood and a bumper. Those little 8oz Duplicolor matched cans are goddamn expensive! I feel like a pro shop doing it can't cost a whole lot more than that, considering that is half the cost of a Maaco respray.

Dec 27, 2020 · Vinyl might not be able to look quite as good as paint but in a good color it'll still look way better tha any of the colors you can buy a ND in. The repaint would maybe make sense if you planned to keep it forever or the cost of the paint job wasn't 50% of the cost of the vehicle. Keith Tanner said:

Oct 20, 2024 · My 91 had explorer heads, explorer intake and 1.7 rockers when I sold it. When I bought it back it had the trick flow twisted wedge 360hp heads/cam/intake kit. Both set ups have been enough power to be fun. The trick flow kit definitely makes more power, but not sure if it's enough of a difference at todays prices.
