Oct 13, 2019 · These hats are heavy which is both good and bad. Heavier means less breathable, but stays on your head better than a Tilley. Also the Bush hat brim protects me from a lot of branches. This is the reason I wear the Bush Hats more than any other hats I own. I added grommets all the way around one of my XL Bush hats for summer ventilation. David Enoch

Oct 8, 2018 · My 3rd tip: Register your hat with Tilley right after purchase. Perhaps buy your hat direct from Tilley (mine was not -- I purchased mail order from a Canadian shop.) This helps with warranty. Tilley used to say they would return your worn out hat with the replacement hat if you were sentimental. I never got mine back despite requesting them.

Mar 14, 2012 · The Tilley hats are extremely comfortable for most of us and very, very durable. Easily worth the price, IMO. The TH4 hemp is a real fine, all-round hat. For warm weather, long-distance backpacking, I prefer the light weight, very breathable LTM6 Airflo (I have two different colors). If I feel I want more shade, I will use my T4 with the wide brim.
