Feb 12, 2002 · I single handed my Ingrid 38 from Puget Sound to La Paz Mexico. I averaged 6.4 knots over the ground. Mine was an owner finished boat that did the south pacific. The factory finished boats (in my opinion) were designed to sell in the late 70's and 80's. They had to many berths and not enough living space.

Others on the radar are the Baba 30, CT Cutter 34, Valiant 32, Alajuela 33/38, Tayana 37, Bristol 28 Cutter, Cabo Rico 38, Pretorien 35, and Pacific Seacraft 34. I think the Hans Christian 33 would be pushing the final budget.

Everything was done right; there were no short cuts. The Alajuela 38 design was actually patterned after the Goucho - which was an Atkins-Archer that actually sailed well.

Aug 17, 2024 · Regarding the diver cutting the sail slugs; I believe that the boom was broken in two. This leads me to believe that the 38 foot SeaRay passed THROUGH the cockpit, and the sail. The damage to the topside and gunnel of the sailboat was from the prop. Regardless, the owner of the vessel has bigger issues than a couple of sail slugs and some line.
