Jun 14, 2022 · You are not trying to measure the PD. As with the Lines on a Cylinder strategy, lots of data and use the Maximum Inscribed evaluation for an ID and Min Circumscribed for a OD. A helical path for a Circle is useful for those threaded hole position with a lot of tolerance. 4 pts and LSQ evaluation and follow the pitch.

Oct 2, 2024 · The way I've gotten it to run so far is "Extract features, select one of the ears, then circle path with tangential turned off and adjust angle range." I'm not sure if this is a crude way of doing it or not. but id assume there's a better way of doing it.

Besides remeasuring or approximating the Pitch Circle in Calypso using several Self-Centering points and recalling to Circle, is there any way to use my GearPro programming to report this True Position.

Aug 13, 2024 · Copy and paste the circle in question. Open the copy and change the circle path strategy to take 4 touch points. Then, on the scanning circle, click the "None" button under Projection (above Options) Click "Meas Ref" tab. Select "Feature" from the dropdown menu. Select the circle that used the touch points. Click Ok.

So "circle 1 and 4" are used to create the "3d line 1" for X & Z, in a secondary alignment, but only circle 1 is used for the base alignment. The base alignment only consists of "circle 1" for X/Z origin and "point 1" for Y origin.
