Columbia Mall was the first covered mall in the state of GA and was built in the 1960's. This mall was built back when all stores were legally closed on Sunday due to the Blue Laws of that time. This was the 1st enclosed mall in GA and was THE place to shop in the 1970's!

Introduction: During the process of demolition of the Avondale Mall, formerly Columbia Mall, a time capsule was discovered in the building. It was opened during the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Wal-Mart Memorial Drive Supercenter on February 12, 2007.
