The Maranao people (Maranao: Bangsa Mëranaw; Filipino: mga Maranaw[2][3]), also spelled Meranaw, Maranaw, and Mëranaw, is a predominantly Muslim Filipino ethnic group native to the region around Lanao Lake in the island of Mindanao.
