Nov 25, 2019 · Cannot find the right temp rated boot for a wood stove chimney pipe system penetrating a metal roof. Chimney pipe is Metal Fab - 6TG48, double wall insulated comes out to 9" outside diameter. When I look at any hi temp boots they all say something about gas fireplaces and stoves, nothing about wood, or all-fuel stoves.

Nov 25, 2019 · But what I'm seeing appears to be flashing installed completely underneath the metal sheet roofing, the hole cut for the cone to pop up - which creates a spot for water to go under the metal roofing. Well I would expect that to leak eventually, totally dependent on caulking to protect that spot from allowing water under the roofing.

The bottom of the roof jack has a piece of aluminum that is soft enough to form a perfect fit around the contours of the roof panel to get a good seal.

Feb 1, 2023 · My suspicion is that snow is being blown up under the storm collar and down through the gap between the rubber boot flashing and the chimney. This gap is part of the design of the system to prevent the rubber from contacting the chimney. I’ve seen other posts suggesting people use duct tape to cover the venting on ventilated metal flashing cones.
