Feb 1, 2023 · Other than the retextures by FrankFamily, I don't there is much in the way of replacers for the Dawnguard Armor. It's one of the best looking sets in vanilla so a lot of people don't feel the need to change it. However there may be a few mods out there that change it to some Armor mods using a plugin but I don't know.

yep, if you download the replacer version it should replace the default dawnguard armor models. Alternatively, there is a standalone version, which adds new recipes to craft the armors without changing the default dawnguard armors.

The chest piece seems to be akin to an inside out coat of plates, without overlapping plates. Overlap is used to disperse the force of impact, and give some agility without sacrificing protection too much. Should this armor be hit by a spear thrust, I fear if the spear hit one of the plates, it would slidr of and pirece between the plates.
