Feb 24, 2021 · You can use your fire pit on any surface, as long as you use the Stand. A fire in a Solo Stove is very well contained, so you can have peace of mind while burning on any surface. For an even safer experience, the Shield will be your best bet as it "shields" any embers from popping out onto your deck.

Nov 26, 2023 · Most areas require a burn permit for an open fire, even in a solo stove. The burn permit regulations will usually require the fire be at least 10-25' from any structure. While the deck would be safe from the heat, the fear is sparks and embers catching the house or deck on fire.

Mar 31, 2021 · Obviously some burn longer than others and some burn hotter than others. But my favorite was the juniper that I got from solo. I purchased this thing Black Friday and just ordered a couple bundles of wood so that I was ready to go the day it arrived. I wish I could afford to order all my wood from solo. That juniper has the most amazing smell.

I burn my Solo Stove about 5 or 6 feet from my house, on a concrete patio. It’s not under a patio roof, just open air. The fire is so contained that I’ve never worried about it or had a problem with my house catching fire. Once the flame dies down to inside the solo stove I have to stand right next to it to feel the heat.

Jul 6, 2023 · We only bought the bonfire about a month ago. We've had about 5 fires with no issues with heat under the stove. I wouldn't touch it at the bottom when you're having a fire, but it doesn't seem to be hot enough to be an issue for the deck. We did have one batch of wood where there were lots of "pops" and embers.
